Here are some worthy links to websites and other stuff that might be interesting. Some of it is serious, some of it is fun. If you know of a site that other teens would like, scroll down to the “Feedback” section of the page and let me know.

  • Go Ask Alice—This site is a very popular and successful project of Columbia University. They have answers to just about any issue; relationships, emotional health, sex, nicotine, drugs, alcohol, fitness, nutrition, stress—and more. Visitors submit their questions, and the answers that “Alice” gives are straight up and honest.
     
  • Teen Wire—this great website has advice on dating, relationships, health, sex and more!
     
  • I Wanna Know—Lots of good information about sex
     
  • CDC (Centers for Disease Control) website on Sexually Transmitted Diseases—government site that has interesting statistics on STDs.
     
  • Rape and Sexual Assault Network—Find out what to do if you’ve been raped, abused or assaulted.
     
  • Center for Domestic Violence Prevention Teen Site—Are you or someone you know dealing with violence in a relationship? Learn more about what an abusive relationship is and how to get help.
     
  • Youth Violence Prevention—Dating Violence is more common than most people think. Check this site out to learn how to spot the warning signs of a potentially violent relationship.
     
  • Advocates for Youth—Website where you can ‘fight for your rights’ to a comprehensive education about sexual health. This organization creates programs and advocates for policies that help young people make informed and responsible decisions about their reproductive and sexual health.
     
  • Letter—Suicide is the third largest cause of death among teens. This letter could help someone who is thinking about suicide.
     
  • Befrienders International—Find out what the warning signs of suicide are.
     
  • Myths About Suicide—Facts often get confused with fiction when it comes to why teens commit suicide. Here is a short 7-question quiz that will give you the facts. Test yourself to see how much you know about suicide, and learn how you can best help someone who is suicidal.
     
  • The Dream Doctor’s Teen Zone—Having a weird dream? Wonder what it means? Check out this dream-analysis site just for teens!
     
  • Listen to the radio show Loveline on KROQ with Dr. Drew Pinski and Adam Corolla. Visit this fansite for a list of radio stations Loveline airs on.
     
  • Tipping information—guidelines on appropriate gratuities
     
  • Table Manners—Find out if it’s rude to sneeze at the table and other stuff we never think about.
     
  • Sex, ETC.—A website for teenagers, by teenagers. Get information about sex, health, and a bunch of other stuff. It’s another place you can read stories.
     
  • It’s Your (Sex) Life—This is a site by the Kaiser Family Foundation, where you can information about safe and responsible sex.
     
  • Book: A Girl’s Gotta Do What A Girl’s Gotta Do by Kathleen Baty, the ‘Safety Chick.’—A how-to book for women about to be safe while working, shopping, traveling, surfing the Net, or dating. Written by a woman who was stalked by her ex-boyfriend.
