The Teen Dating Project is the parent-companion to the book What Smart Teenagers Know...About Dating, Relationships and Sex®. The book is for the teens; the Project is for their parents.
The Teen Dating Project is dedicated to helping parents talk to their teenagers about relationships and sex in a way that doesn’t start an argument. The Project also helps parents to understand what their teens are feeling and dealing with. Let’s face it, when teens are dating, they need an adult they can trust, not someone they feel they have to hide from.
Goal
Deborah Hatchell founded The Teen Dating Project after she wrote the book, What Smart Teenagers Know...About Dating, Relationships and Sex®. Deborah’s goal is to speak to 1 million parents about the realities of teen sexuality, and show them how they can easily talk to their own teens about love and sex in order to reduce the staggering statistics of teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections.
Her engaging and timely presentation is applicable to any group of adults who have teens in their lives (parents, grandparents, extended family members, educators, counselors). Since many people have a teenager in their life, either directly or indirectly, your group may appreciate her message more than you think.
